My first dog was the Scottish Terrier, Peglin Possibility, or Monty.  He became part of my family in 1970 and my daughter, Michelle, and Monty spent many happy hours together.  Sadly he died at a relatively young age as a result of an accident.

After a while, we adopted Bethney Emma, then Demisu Teena Gold, Jo, labradors who were both “free to a good home” at 12 months.  Emma and Jo lived long and healthy lives and supervised our first golden retriever, Sinenen Silas CDX.

Silas was the best possible ambassador for the breed:  he became the catalyst for a lifetime hobby in the “world of purebred dogs” beginning with Obedience in 1983 and Exhibition in 1986-7. We registered our prefix “Taransay” (an island of the Outer Hebrides) in 1987.

Our breeding endeavours were limited, though always focused on producing healthy, typical golden retrievers. We strongly recommend and support the various canine health evaluation schemes for inherited disease.  We don’t breed now but still enjoy our association with the world of purebred dogs through our Cavalier King Charles Spaniels – Leisureview Anne OTaransay and Leisureview Montague Kerr.
